We're into the trip about halfway, we just arrived at Arcosanti! Julia's website has updated video and still photos of the trip as we've been installing souvenirs, and seeing them in action both in people's cars, on their bodies, and even on dogs!

Many thanks to everyone who has already helped back our kickstarter fundraising campaign! Here's a video update on our kickstarter!

Our Kickstarter Campaign is up and running! Also we have some new sites confirmed for the trip, and we're getting very excited about distributing our work all over the high desert!

New confirmed sites include:

The Palms in Joshua Tree, California
The Hill Top Motel in Kingman, Arizona
The Burial Grounds project in El Cerro Mission, 30 minutes south of Albuquerque, New Mexico

i've been scouting out different options for materials from which to hang our souvenirs, and am using some of the materials as inspiration for a new series of jewelry pieces inspired by the desert

Matt and I have been driving our theorized route the last few days, taking lots of pictures, and posting vine videos about what we're seeing.

This is going to be a really amazing collection of works and spaces to experience for the HDTS 2013 program in October. If you haven't already, you might like to research even joining us for one evening!

Joshua Tree, CA

One of our sites for the first two days will be the Gold Dinosaur off of 29 Palms Highway

We visited Aaron Giesel's Mirror/House also, a camera obscura marvel!

Monday, October 13th

Rice, AZ

This fireplace in Rice, CA is our site, it's a vacant lot right before the Rice Shoe Fence

On the south side of CA62 between the intersection with CA177 and US Hwy95

Next stop, Kingman, AZ our final destination for the night being the Hilltop Motel

 

Tuesday, October 15th

Ghost Town: Cleator, AZ

On our way to the final destination for the evening in Crown King, AZ we stopped in Cleator and met Don. His Yard Sale is one of our sites! Keep your eyes pealed, and don't be swayed by the gravel road. Settle in for the long haul up the mountain, it is well worth it!

We saw lots of wild life, and in Crown King is the Mill Restaurant where this porch hosted dozens of hummingbirds all evening
